Edge connectivity and QoX

The company

Cloudbrink addresses Quality of Experience (QoX) and Security at the ‘Edge’ which has become a crucial enterprise problem of managing remote experiences (distributed workforce) whether it is branch offices or working from home. It is built on modern architecture. The brink programmable protocol is a new and more intelligent way of doing things with a one click deployment.

Why we invested

• Thesis: In the distributed architecture for remote operations, there is a need for ensuring high data speeds (fiber like speeds). Traditional architectures and even SD-WAN fail as you have to send the data all the way to the data center. Cloud is making these distributed with some fixed points of connection. However they are still limited in terms of reach. There are only fewer PoPs (point of connections) and therefore this still increases latency. This requires you to think about provisioning on the edge, where you are closer to the last mile and know what the network quality is near the user.

• Backing a balanced team – Great Technical and Go-To-Market Founders: The bet is on the Founder’s deep insight to focus on the QoX given the significant remote workforce and use of communication through zoom/web-ex etc.

• Superior Insight, Product & Traction: Timing is everything! The idea of getting a QoX focused software play which can integrate with communication providers and enterprises is very powerful and timely in this environment! A very strong PoC pipeline based on a sharp use case definition of QoX.
